Publication Record Set, 1967 - 1985

This series contains interoffice memorandums, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) technical memorandums, academic papers, contract briefings and NASA public publications. Subjects include geometric algebra, robotics, lunar and planetary missions and the Space Transportation System (STS) also known as the Space Shuttle. Several sets of documents are of special interest. A run of "JPL Computing News and Notes" (1979-1983) documents internal issues within JPL. The "Lunar and Planetary Mission Handbook," 1979, provides a summary of active lunar and planetary missions as well as those missions being planned. Each description provides the scientific rationale for the mission, the spacecraft to be used and a summary of the mission, including Galileo and Voyager. The "Planetary Missions Performance Handbook" documents NASA planning for swingbys and flybys of Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Mars and Venus up to 1990. Also included is a set of STS mission reports (1982-1984) which summarize the various Space Shuttle missions including scientific research that was conducted, anomalies that occurred and discussions of vessel specifications.
